Guy de Lancey, the lab's technologist, was commissioned by Brush Theatre Seoul of South Korea to develop and co-create an immersive experience for young people involving live staging, interactive surround projection, performance workshops and visual research around imagination and dreaming.
The project was built from the ground up and all material was generated by discovery. The team started with two weeks of workshop based training and exploration in ‘The Viewpoints’: a technique of composition that acts as a medium for thinking about and acting upon movement, gesture and creative space. The project focused on elements of tempo, duration, kinesthetic response, repetition, architecture, pitch, acceleration/deceleration, silence and timbre.
